NWP Collaborator Badge: Public Criteria

Curators notes:

The National Writing Project’s Collaborator Badge indicates that the recipient has completed work as part of a leadership program at a local Writing Project site or through an initiative of the National Writing Project and is recognized as an teacher-leader with experience in collaboration at their local Writing Project site and/or by the national network.

The mission of the National Writing Project (NWP) is to focus the knowledge, expertise, and leadership of our nation’s educators on sustained efforts to improve writing and learning for all learners. The NWP Collaborator Badge is issued to educators who complete a program of literacy learning, study, and leadership development with a focus on collaboration. These programs may be designed and administered by local Writing Project sites or by the National Writing Project.

The Collaborator Badge is issued by local Writing Project sites, or the National Writing Project, in recognition of achievements in this social practice. The badge is not subject-specific and can be issued to educators who work at any level, K-university, across the curriculum. The badge can also be issued to educators who work in educational institutions, libraries, or community settings.

NWP collaborators are teacher-leaders with demonstrated knowledge and practice of collaboration. Holders of this badge may work through their local Writing Project site to design and deliver professional learning programs focused on or organized around collaboration. For more information about the National Writing Project or to find a local Writing Project site, visit NWP’s website.
