Books + Talk + Teachers = NWP Radio

Curators notes:

What shall we read? It’s always the question! Since 2010, NWP Radio has been a source of information and perspectives from scholars and educators across the NWP network. Many NWP Radio episodes feature conversations with educator-authors about their new books, making the NWP Radio archive an excellent source of ideas for new reading experiences at local Writing Project sites. “Books + Talk + Teachers = NWP Radio” explains how to search the archive for radio episodes that feature discussions of new books and research.

Summary:

Since 2010, NWP Radio has been a source of information and perspectives from scholars and educators across the NWP network. Many NWP Radio episodes feature conversations with educator-authors about their new books, making the NWP Radio archive an excellent source of ideas for new reading experiences at local sites.

First, there was the (then) new service called BlogTalkRadio, an internet-powered broadcast service where guests could call into a conference call number and make a radio show. Twice a month, NWP staff invited network members and new authors to “go on the radio” and talk informally about their work to an audience of educators. Later, podcast platforms took over the hosting and broadcasting, and podcasts because all kinds of things, but NWP Radio remained true to form, hosting network members and their colleagues to talk about writing, professional learning, and all things NWP.

Many shows featured authors talking about new books of interest to NWP sites, making the NWP Radio archive an excellent source of ideas for new reading experiences at local Writing Project sites. Below are some of the most recent interviews with authors from the archive to help you find books of interest for yourself and your colleagues. You can also view these episodes by clicking on the “authorinterview” tag in the sidebar of most pages on this website.
